Design and run scalable, secure cloud and DevOps platforms. You build the infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD that keeps every squad fast and every release safe.
We're building something that doesn't exist yet in Suriname: a young, ambitious AI & Tech hub where local talent gets a real shot at world-class technology careers, without leaving home.
Big ambitions need solid ground to stand on, and that ground is infrastructure: pipelines that ship reliably, cloud environments that stay secure, and a cost structure that doesn't quietly eat the mission.
That's where you come in. You'll work alongside our DevOps architect to assess what we have, sharpen what works, and rebuild what doesn't. You're the person who makes delivery fast without making it fragile, and who can look at a cloud bill and see both the waste and the fix.
And because we're early, this isn't about maintaining someone else's decisions. The CI/CD architecture, the infrastructure-as-code standards, the way dev and ops work together here: you'll help define all of it, and set an example for the engineers who come up through the hub after you.
What you'll do
• Shape the DevOps architecture. Assess and enhance our DevOps and CI/CD setup together with the DevOps architect. Not just keeping the lights on, but deciding where the switches go.
• Build the pipelines. Create and configure CI/CD pipelines with Argo CD and GitHub Actions that make shipping boring, in the best possible way.
• Make ML workloads efficient. Advise on MLflow, Airflow and EMR job configuration so training and data jobs run fast without burning budget.
• Watch the costs. Analyse cloud spend, spot the over-provisioned corners, and recommend right-sizing. Every dollar saved on idle compute is a dollar that goes into the mission.
• Keep it secure and compliant. Address security and compliance in our cloud environments from the start: built in, not bolted on.
• Bridge dev and ops. Keep projects moving by being the translator between the people who build and the people who run. Strong communication matters here as much as strong Terraform.
What you bring
• Proficient in AWS and DevOps, with a strong focus on CI/CD and MLOps
• Argo CD and GitHub Actions
• Infrastructure as code with Terraform (Terragrunt experience is a plus)
• Kubernetes and Docker, with an eye on resource usage and cost
• AWS Lambda deployments
• Monitoring and logging practices for reliability and performance
• Clear communication across development and operations teams

Beyond the tech: you're pragmatic, you'd rather prevent an incident than heroically fix one, and you enjoy building in an environment where the playbook is still being written, by you.
